How do we verify the applicants identification?

In May 2017 the Federal Government officially announced that the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) has partnered with Australia Post to integrate Digital iD™ with the Commonwealth’s Digital Identity Framework which provided an opportunity for all jurisdictions, and businesses, to finally create a national interoperable digital identity framework.

How does Intelligence Studio utilise Digital iD™?
A potential employee, babysitter or tenant will receive a notification from Intelligence Studio informing them of your request and outlining the process which involves the online verification of their identification. They will have also have the ability to save their verified identity for future use if desired, with a SMS link inviting them to download the Digital iD™ app. Enrolment can also be performed directly within the Digital iD™ app, which is free to download.

The applicant will then verify two-forms of identification, usually in the form of an Australian passport and an Australian drivers licence, before being requested to conduct a ‘liveness check’ using the camera on their mobile device, which then completes their portion of this simple process. Australia Post will then verify the documents and information across various government databases and the results with then be disseminated to us to include as part of the package we will provide to you.

This simple but important process addresses the growing levels of ‘identity friction’ that has become an unnecessary burden and cost in conducting what should be straightforward transactions.
